Bio

Irina was born in Moscow and developed a passion for music an early age. She began studying classical guitar at 11, inspired by friends who played music. Later, drawn to the energy of blues and rock, she switched to electric guitar. Over time, her musical interests expanded to include funk, jazz, and fusion, leading her to pursue a professional career in music.

Irina graduated from the Jazz-Pop Department of Russian Gnessin Music Academy and later moved to Cologne, Germany, where she completed her Bachelor of Music in Jazz/Pop with a major in guitar at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln. She is performing a wide range of ensembles, from duets to large ensembles, combining both pop and jazz projects.

During her studies, Irina developed a strong interest in composing her own music and decided to create her own project, which led to the formation of IRINA’s Quartet in 2023. The project has been warmly received at live performances. In 2025, the group won the Jazzwettbewerb der Werner Richard – Dr. Carl Dörken Stiftung. That same year, the first singles from their debut album were released, followed by the full album at the end of 2025.

Irina began teaching guitar at the age of 18 and has experience working with both children and adults. She helps her students explore a wide range of musical styles and guides them in finding their own voice and personal connection to music.
